Nothing personal
2016

Nothing Personal is an installation where your voice matters.

In this built environment, every component influences its surroundings, while interacting with one another. The project, ‘Nothing Personal’ focuses on how we communicate and highlights the areas in which communication, or language, breaks down. In the piece, seesaw microphones are linked to multiple speakers, which are connected by strings and are spread around the space. The voice of the performer(s) is translated into signals through the amplifier and is then translated into vibrations of the strings. The work achieves a ripple effect as the sound vibrations are materialized by way of a self-drawing device and through the use of a liquid container, a bell, and a mirror. The work allows the voice to exist in the physical realm.
